Tonight's supper

Tonight's supper -- wax beans, broccoli and zucchini.  All picked from the garden this evening, after the storms passed through.  This is the first picking of wax beans this season.  By all accounts I will have a bountiful bean harvest this year.

You know, I could get used to this.

That is about as perfect a meal as anyone could have...it looks delicious.:) I'm glad to hear you are going to have such a good bean harvest.

Isn't it such a good feeling to look down at your plate and realize that it all (or even most of it!) came from your own raised veggies and/or animals? Makes ya feel kinda sorta halfway self-sufficient!!

My yellow beans are always more prolific than the green ones . . . and I usually have too many green ones!

That meal is so simple, yet incredibly beautiful! I think you just added another year onto your life with the looks of a healthy meal like that! I love my wax yellow beans!

We are having a farm-local meal this evening. Chicken-pot-pie our potatoes, carrots, squash, tomatoes and chicken. All wrapped in pie dough made with our own pig lard. It is hard to explain to an outsider how fulfilling this kind of meal truly is..

Looks good Jo. Lately we have been splashing a bit of vinegar on garden veggies and it really brightens them up.

I'm surprised you were able to leave that beautiful plate of food sit long enough to take a picture of it...

Beautiful!
