There's a theory in the Montessori School of thought that children really, really want to learn and do grownup "work." When my (only child) daughter was growing up, I was home running a full blown homestead in the boonies with animals, garden, etc. without running water or electricity. I didn't have time to "entertain" her but she was happy all day long doing her small part of whatever I was doing. Sure, it took me three times as long to do each task, but it made for a happy childhood for her and also gave her a firm base for adulthood.
Your adorable son will no doubt be able to whip up a lighter, flakier biscuit than the gal he marries! Good job, Mom!
I just love all of the pictures you post about your life out on the "farm"! You do realize that you are largely to blame for us buying our property next week, right? I might not want exactly what you have (gardening is way too much work and horses are much more fun!), but it will be similar! Love ya, Sis!

Oh, I really need to get my act together, can he come and do some in-home training for me? LOL! Great photos and a great job on those biscuits!
I get such a kick out of that smile. Does he say "cheese" when you pull out a camera?
