Where we'll be

Eventually, after we close on the house.  Yes, THE house -- we have found a house and have signed a purchase agreement already.  A lovely old house in town, on a city-sized lot.  I'm going to have to brush up on my urban gardening.  Closing date is September 27.

We have one more week before the little move to park housing, where we'll rough it (no tv, internet, major appliances) until we have the big move to the house in early October.  So, there will be a dry spell of blogging during September.  Much like what happened last year, only this year I have a legitimate reason.

So much to do, so much to do, so much to do.

Your offer been accepted? If so, when is closing?

Doug -- Thanks! I have lots of pictures of the house, I'll share them soon.

Bob -- Closing right now is Sept 27. Bank might move it back a week. Planning to move to the house the first full weekend of October. Save the dates! We'll need you!

Wow, glad to hear you've found a nice house already! But what a change from your 14 acres to a house in town. No fear. You can do a lot of gardening on a city lot AND take up a lot of lawn you won't have to mow! Eager to see pictures and hear more.

As soon as I saw New Ulm I smiled! You have so much to do, wow... I'll be thinking of you and can't wait until you are able to get settled and give us a peek of all that is new in your life!

ttI've come to realize the closing of doors always, always, is accompanied by the opening of a window. Or two. Usually by some unidentifiable presence I've long ago dubbed "The Big Guy Upstairs."

You'll have a wonderful stay there in New Ulm. I am sure, so sure, that your time there will be absolutely fabulous, and your gardens stupendous.

So glad you have resolution on your situation.

I am planting my fall garden here in south-central Kentucky, looking forward to next year's growing season so I can grow out some of those wonderful tomato and squash seeds you shared with me. You are so much in my thoughts and heart.

Mama Pea -- Yes, it will be a change. An adjustment. We'll have neighbors! No more walking outside in my pajamas. I'll actually have to close curtains when I get dressed. If I don't, the neighbors sure will!

Erin -- Do you know New Ulm? Any secrets to share? :) I keep telling myself that once we are all settled in the stress levels will go down. But right now I'm working at DefCon 1. Red alert!

Kay -- I certainly hope the windows will open quickly and often after our move. My biggest worry is that the kids won't like the school, and not make friends. But I'm a worrier by nature, so they will probably be fine. Good luck with the fall garden, and the seeds I sent. So glad you have finally made it to your farm, and can't wait to hear about your adventures.

Jo, I don't have any tips that would help as I just remember going to New Ulm a few times as a kid with my grandma to visit a relative. I just remember it being pretty, like a smaller version of Red Wing, well without the pretty bluffs and Mississippi LOL
