Two weeks

This is a drawing of Fort Ridgely, located near Fairfax in south-central Minnesota.  The fort served as an army outpost from 1855 to 1867 and played a prominent role in the Dakota War of 1862.  The Minnesota Historical Society has marked the 150th anniversary of this war with a series of educational programs and museum exhibits, including one we visited while at the Minnesota History Center in July.

This is also the location of Fort Ridgely State Park.  And where, in approximately two weeks' time, I will be starting my new job.

Yes, you heard me right, my new job.  And yes, in two weeks' time.

Life right now is pretty crazy, and it's about to get a whole lot crazier.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS on the new job position! That's got to be a big load off your mind.

Secondly, EEEEEP! I'm assuming this means you'll have to move? As in find new living quarters and put your current place on the market? And right at the time for the boys to start school!

As you say, you're heading into some crazy times but if at all possible, we'd all like to hear more of the details as they unfold. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and sending best wishes for a smooooooth transition!

I'm happy for you that you found a new job. How far away is this from where you live now? Far enough to have to move after all or close enough to get to stay?

wow, that's not much notice and right as school is starting! I hope everything falls into place as much as possible, and update us when you can :)

Mama Pea -- Thank you! We are moving on Saturday to the park housing. It feels like we're moving to Gilligan's Island -- the theme song keeps running through my head -- "No phone, no lights, no motorcars, not a single luxury." Although it won't be nearly that bad. To the woman who lived without running water or plumbing for several years!

LuckyRobin -- Thanks, it is a good feeling. It will be about 130 miles from our current home. So we will have to move. Soon!

Erin -- Yeah, the kids are going to miss several weeks of school while we're living at the park. The hubby's planning to do a bit of home schooling during that time. Plus lots of nature education and adventure, exploring the park while we are there.
