Flocked

Another hoar frost. It looks like someone went around and doused the whole landscape with a can of Christmas tree flocking spray. The picture above is of a cattail marsh I drive past on my into the park.

A stand of aging ash trees. The sun never shone, so the frost never melted. The overcast sky turned everything a beautiful blue color late in the afternoon.

Another little cemetery about a mile north of our house. The man who built our house is buried here. I'll write more about that another time.

A crumbling stone barn foundation being overtaken by trees. My little 2.8 optical zoom, 5.0 megapixel digital camera can't capture the beauty of the land around me. That, and I need a few lessons in photography. Maybe I'll put a new camera on my birthday list. I can dream, can't I?

We've been having more of this recently. Better than ice, in most cases, because it is less apt to be as heavy and break branches. I drive 20 minutes toward Lake Erie to work. My house is cold and the lake area is warm, so I drive out of my weather in the morning and back into in the afternoon. Sometimes I forget that it was frosty or there was so much snow until I drive back into it!

LOVE the cemetary picture! It was nice here so most of the snow has finally melted away, except for the garden area-- go figure. In full sun, but snow still sits.

Not bad for a digital camera! :o) Who am I to say, I have a wimpy digital camera, too! LOL

Thanks Erin! I'm glad the camera was able to capture the blue of the sky.

Karis - Thank you! The beauty of our winters is sometimes the only thing that helps us get through them!

Hello Mr. H. - I like that one too. :)

Hi Karen Sue -- It must be interesting to have several microclimates so close to your home. Out here on the prairie, there's pretty much just one!

Howdy Jenny - Yeah, here I am complaining about my digital camera, when ten years ago I was still using a 35 mm thing. I should be happy with what I have!
